Emma originally trained as a biologist but always used craft to relax. She began to teach herself to make jewellery in the mid 1990s and her pieces were soon in demand from friends, making her realise that her pieces had the potential to be desirable further afield. Her simple semi-precious and sterling garlands are enduring and popular designs. They are inspired by the medieval and Tudor jewellery that often featurs in portraiture of the aristocracy and courtiers of the time. More recently she has begun to use organic floral and leaf motifs, harking back to her training, and combines these with gemstones to create contemporary designs but with a vintage feel.
