I work with glass, designing
and making an exciting range of contemporary interior
accessories suited for domestic and commercial environments.
My current range of work includes a series of wall
panels, mirrors, vessels and lighting. All pieces
are hand made utilising various kiln forming processes
which ensures that each piece is unique.
Inspiration for my work is taken from time spent
travelling between rural and urban environments.
Journeys carried out on foot, by car and by train
all record architecture, patterns, rhythms and continuous
shifts in the landscape.
Such events manifest themselves in my work through
the manipulation and juxtaposition of the material.
It is cut, layered, bent, cast, drilled and slumped.
Motifs are often enclosed in the glass and sections
assembled through the use of both traditional leading
techniques and industrial fixing methods.
I have recently started to apply gold and silver
leaf to the glass to intensify the colour used and
reflect light further. I show my work nationally
through galleries and am pleased to work to commission
on a variety of scales for private and public spaces.
I welcome visitors to my studio on the outskirts
of Kendal.
