’Peter studied for his
degree in Furniture Design and Craftsmanship at
Buckinghamshire Chiltern University College. Whilst
studying he was Assistant to Sculptor John Houlston.
This has led to two distinct styles in Peter’s
work: one traditional; the other sculptural.
’My
work centres around the relationship between the
natural and the man made, the abstract and the
pictorial.
In making work I seek to fulfil the
individual requirements of my clients and produce
interesting, elegant and balanced objects. I enjoy
making work that uses a range of materials, particularly
wood, metal, glass, stone, water and plants. Using
a combination of materials within one piece allows
huge scope for the creation of interesting textures
and shapes.
In addition to using a range of materials
I enjoy the opportunity of working in different
forms. Although the lines between each are blurred,
it is possible to classify my work into the two
key areas of sculpture and
furniture.
